MRCP(UK) examination fees and JRCPTB enrolment fees frozen

The Federation of Royal Colleges of Physicians of the UK, which works on behalf of the three physician Royal Colleges, is committed to improving patient care by setting and maintaining standards for high quality physician training and assessment in the UK.

It does this through the work of the Joint Royal Colleges of Physicians Training Board (JRCPTB), which focusses on training curricula, and MRCP(UK) which focusses on examinations.

In recognition of the financial pressures many junior doctors are currently facing, the Federation has taken the decision to freeze the fees for MRCP(UK) examinations and enrolment with the JRCPTB. The fees will remain at their current levels until at least mid-2024.

The Federation reviews the costs associated with examinations and training, and the fees charged to candidates and trainees, on a regular basis, working to minimise any increase in the fees charged wherever possible. Prior to 2021, examination fees had been maintained at the same level for seven consecutive years, while JRCPTB enrolment fees had been frozen since 2013 and were increased for the first time since then only last year.
