We are recruiting UK trainees from across the country to take part in two pilot examinations to test the new PACES 2020 carousel encounters. The events, which will take place this summer in London and Edinburgh, will be a free training opportunity for those seeking to improve their skills.
PACES 2020 pilots will:
- give you an opportunity to improve your PACES performance, even if you’re sitting the current version;
- provide you with one-to-one feedback on your performance from an experienced examiner;
- will be an ideal environment to learn more about the changes that are being made to the PACES examination from 2020
- reasonable travel expenses will be covered
The MRCP(UK) PACES is changing. PACES 2020 is a project that will update the PACES carousel, keeping the examination up-to-date with changes in postgraduate medical education. The changes include: lengthening the brief clinical consultation encounters to 20 minutes to better reflect everyday practice, integrating physical examination with history taking in station two, and dividing the communication and ethics encounter to two 10 minute scenarios.
