Exam Centres

UK centres

Candidates who have selected to sit the exam in the UK must contact Pearson VUE to book their test. The earlier a candidate books, the greater the chance of the preferred centre being available.

Pearson VUE operates  a large number of test centres throughout the UK, including centres in:

• Ballymena
• Birmingham
• Bristol                                   
• Cambridge 
• Cardiff                         
• Edinburgh                        
• Glasgow         
• Leeds
• Leicester
• London 
• Manchester
• Newcastle.

Places in centres (including the above) will be available when the application period opens, please check the exam dates calendar to see when Pearson VUE accepts centre bookings. This is usually a short period after the MRCP(UK) application period opens. Candidates who book less than 4 weeks in advance of the exam day may find that some of the centres have filled up, with candidates who attempt to book after the window has closed likely to find the majority of centres will be full. We advise candidate book as soon as possible in order to secure their first choice test centre location.

Centres outside the UK  

Candidates are given a choice of regions from which to select, and then asked to nominate a particular city in that region as the location for their test. Pearson VUE and the Federation will confirm a candidate’s place within 4 weeks of the closing date for overseas applications.

Please note that, in the unlikely event that the Federation and Pearson VUE are unable to deliver an SCE in the specific location requested, candidates will be offered an alternative location.
