Applying for the MRCP(UK) Part 2 Written Examination

Candidates with constraints on their practice

Candidates who have been erased from the GMC (or equivalent) register for reasons related to fitness to practice are not permitted entry to any MRCP(UK) Examination. Candidates who have been suspended from the GMC (or equivalent) register are not permitted entry to any MRCP(UK) Examination for the duration of the suspension.

Candidates who are subject to any warning, interim orders, undertakings or conditions on their practice from the GMC (or equivalent body) must submit a completed MRCP(UK) and Specialty Certificate Examinations Candidate Declaration Form with each application. Permission to enter any MRCP(UK) Examination will be at the discretion of the MRCP(UK) Medical Director.


Applying online

Candidates may apply online to sit the MRCP(UK) Part 2 Written Examination at all UK centres and most overseas centres. The online application service is accessible through the online account My MRCP(UK).

Note: Online applicants may be required to submit additional documentary evidence and/or payment to complete their online application.

Candidates applying online should note that as part of the terms and conditions of application, you will be asked to confirm that you understand and agree that your result grade for this examination will be shared with UK postgraduate Deaneries upon release and this data will be treated in strict confidence and used only for the purpose of assisting the recruitment process for specialty training.


Submitting a paper application

Candidates who are unable to apply online should download and complete Form C. The completed form should be submitted to the relevant Administration Office.

All candidates are asked to note that Form C was updated on 13 April 2012. Candidates must ensure that they use the new version of the application form:

Prior to submitting an application, we strongly advise all candidates to obtain and familiarise themselves with the current version of the MRCP(UK) Examination Regulations, which includes full information regarding eligibility requirements as well as the conduct, format and content of the Part 2 Written Examination.

Candidates applying by paper application form are advised that in signing the agreement section of the form you consent to your result for this examination being shared with UK postgraduate Deaneries upon release and that this data will be treated in strict confidence and used only for the purpose of assisting the recruitment process for specialty training.


Checklist for submitting a paper application

  •  Form C
  • Fee in Sterling (please check current amount).
  •  MRCP(UK) and Specialty Certificate Examinations Candidate Declaration Form (if applicable)

    Candidates should check carefully that they have enclosed all relevant documentation before sending their applications. Applications which are not complete in every detail may be rejected but candidates will still be liable to pay the examination fee. Applications that arrive after 17:00 (UK time) on the closing date will be returned. Allowances cannot be made for postal or other delays.


Eligibility
