Equating: Changes to the way results are processed and reported
In September 2008 a process called equating was introduced for the MRCP(UK) Part 1 Examination, resulting in significant changes in the way we process and report candidates’ results. In September 2011, the MRCP(UK) Part 1 Standard Setting Group reviewed the equating standards and decided that they are still adequate. Therefore, no changes were applied to the equating process or the pass score of 521.
Please note that equating does not affect the examination itself, and there are no changes to the content, format or timings of the exam as a result.
