Withdrawal from the Examination

• Notice of withdrawal from any part of the Examination must be given in writing to the Royal College of entry (or Centre outside the UK) and be accompanied by the Admission Document, if received.
• Notification in writing can include notification by email, fax or letter.
• In all cases, please quote your RCP Code Number, your full name, your date of birth and state your reason for withdrawal.
• The Examination fee (less an administration charge) will be refunded when notice of withdrawal is received before the published UK closing date (or closing date of the selected overseas centre).
• If the Colleges do not receive notification that a candidate is going to withdraw before the examination closing date, we have to make arrangements as if they are going to attend. The Colleges will have already met the cost of delivering the examination (travel and accommodation expenses of Examiners, use of facilities at all Examination Centres and payment of all support staff, courier charges, photocopying and printing of examination materials, Board Members and so on) on behalf of the candidates and it is therefore considered appropriate that a fee should be payable. 
• If written notification is received after the closing date, the Examination fee paid will be forfeited.
• Fees cannot be transferred to the next Examination.
• Candidates whose applications are incomplete because of non-payment of fees, and who subsequently withdraw from the examination, will still owe the examination entry fee and must resolve this in order to apply to future MRCP(UK) examinations. Candidates who withdraw before the closing date will owe 10% of the examination fee. Those withdrawing after the closing date will owe the full amount.   
• Withdrawal or absence on the day of the Examination from the MRCP(UK) Part 2 Clinical Examination (PACES) will be counted as an attempt and the fee will be forfeited.
