MRCP(UK) Part 2 Clinical Examination (PACES) - Deferment Policy (not applicable to overseas centres)

Candidates may be aware that the Colleges have been unable to accommodate all the applications for the recent diets of the MRCP(UK) Clinical Examination (PACES) due to an increased number of applications. The Colleges are working hard to maximise the number of clinical places available.

However, in instances where the number of applications for a PACES examination diet exceeds the total number of places available in the UK, priority will be given to candidates in a UK training programme. In this instance any UK trainees applying to take PACES in the UK who are temporarily outside of a UK training programme, but who are seeking to continue UK training and competing for an ST3 post will also be prioritised for a clinical examination place.
